Transmission Services

Your transmission deserves the same care and attention as your engine. Automatic transmission fluid lubricates, cools, and cleans internal components of the transmission. It also helps to maintain the hydraulic pressure necessary for the transmission to function properly. The additives in the transmission fluid can get depleted over time. Normal wear from gears grinding causes metal shavings and high heat which creates debris and deposits. With improper maintenance, metal, debris, and deposits build up causing the fluid to overload, which may result in a transmission failure. Regular replacement of the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) and filter will help extend the life of the transmission. It will also help prevent rough shifting, accelerated wear, and even transmission failure. Most vehicle manufacturers recommend automatic transmission service every 30,000 miles. GM has increased this interval to every 50,000 miles on most of their 1995 and newer vehicles with the exception of the Allison transmission which is recommended to be serviced every 25,000 miles.

The Problem:

Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) services are often neglected and even when performed, are often incomplete. This can lead to automatic transmission shifting problems and premature repairs or replacement.

90% of automatic transmission failures are due to overheating and fluid contamination.
A typical transmission drain and refill service replaces only 40% of the old contaminated ATF.

The remainder is trapped inside valve bodies, the torque converter and transmission cooler lines.
New ATF from a conventional drain and refill service can often loosen damaging sludge and varnish deposits leading to shift problems and even transmission failure.
Automatic transmission replacement can cost $2,000 or more.

Don’t let your transmission take you for a ride. Get Wynn’s® Transmission Flush Service.
A typical transmission flush replaces only about 40% of the old, contaminated fluid. Wynn’s Transmission Flush Service safely removes sludge and varnish deposits and replaces over 95% of the used fluid, then conditioners are added to the fresh ATF to extend ATF life, revitalize seals and 0-rings and help maintain smooth shifting.

The Solution:

Take care of your automatic transmission by routinely performing a Wynn’s® Transmission Flush Service.
This service utilizes patented equipment and specially formulated chemicals to solve the problems often associated with conventional drain and refill services.

Manual Transmissions:

Manual transmission fluid provides lubrication to gears, bearings, shafts, and other internal components. Heat, pressure, and friction can slowly breakdown the additives in the manual transmission fluid. In addition, small particles of metal may come off the gears as they wear and these metal particles can mix with the fluid. The fluid can also become contaminated with water. This is why it is important to keep the fluid changed at the proper interval. We recommend manual transmission service every 50,000 miles.

Manual Transmission Service – Starting at $24.99 + tax*

Our Manual Transmission Service includes:

  • evacuating the old manual transmission fluid
  • filling the manual transmission fluid with the manufacturer’s recommended type and quantity of new fluid

Front/Rear Differential Service – Starting at $34.99 + tax*

The differential is the mechanical component that spins both the left and right wheels, but lets them rotate at different speeds so that the vehicle can make turns. When a vehicle makes a turn, the outer wheel has to turn faster than the inner wheel, due to the difference in the length of the paths they take. The differential is located between the two wheels, and is attached to each wheel by an axle shaft. Four-wheel drive vehicles have a separate differential for each pair of wheels, connected through a transfer case.
Differential gear oil provides lubrication to gears, bearings, shafts and other internal components. Heat, pressure and friction can slowly breakdown the additives in the gear oil. In addition, small particles of metal and clutch material may come off as they wear and these particles can mix with the gear oil. It can also become contaminated with water. We recommend changing the differential gear oil every 50,000 miles.
img
Our service includes:

  • Evacuating the old differential gear oil
  • Filling the differential with new manufacturer recommended warranty approved gear oil

Transfer Case Service – Starting at $19.99 + tax*

Transfer cases are found on four-wheel drive and all-wheel drive vehicles. This gearbox divides the transmission power output between the rear differential and the front differential. Most transfer cases allow the front wheels to be disengaged and spin freely during normal driving conditions. When desired, power is transferred to all four wheels.
Transfer case fluid provides lubrication to gears, bearings, shafts, and other internal components. Heat, pressure, and friction slowly breakdown the additives in the transfer case fluid. In addition, small particles of metal may come off the gears as they wear and mix with the fluid. The fluid can also become contaminated with water. We recommend this service every 50,000 miles.
img
Our service includes:

  • draining the old transfer case fluid
  • filling the transfer case with new manufacturer recommended fluid

Engine Cooling System Service – Starting at $89.99 + tax*

The main functions of the Engine Cooling System are to carry heat away from the engine and maintain the correct operating temperature. The system accomplishes this by circulating antifreeze/coolant around the components where heat is generated and carrying it to the radiator to be cooled.

In the engine cooling system, an appropriate amount of an antifreeze/coolant and water mixture is necessary to help reduce the risk of the engine overheating and freezing. Our Engine Cooling System Service helps prevent rust and corrosion build up in the cooling system resulting in overheating and other costly engine problems. We recommend this service every 50,000 miles for green coolant and every 5 years/150,000 miles for extended life coolant.

visually checking the radiator and radiator hoses for leaksimg
Our service includes:

  • exchanging the old antifreeze/coolant in the radiator, hoses, and engine block with new warranty approved antifreeze/coolant
  • evacuating the old antifreeze/coolant in the overflow reservoir and refilling it with new warranty approved antifreeze/coolant

Fuel Filter Replacement – $29.99 + tax* (most cases for gasoline vehicles)

The fuel from the fuel tank is typically pumped from a pump inside the fuel tank to the engine. In the line between the fuel tank and the engine, a fuel filter is typically present to help protect the fuel system. As a fuel filter slowly becomes clogged, the restricted fuel flow could lead to poor acceleration, reduced engine performance, fuel pump failure, as well as other issues. Most vehicle manufacturers recommend changing the fuel filter every 30,000 miles on gasoline vehicles and every 15,000 miles on diesel vehicles.
img
Our service includes: img

  • removing the old fuel filter
  • installing a new fuel filter that meets or exceeds the vehicle manufacturer’s warranty requirements
  • starting the vehicle to check for leaks

Fuel System Cleaning Service – $49.99 + tax

Every time a vehicle’s driver presses the gas pedal, they are controlling how much fuel and air the engine takes in. The pedal tells the throttle valve how much air to let in and the computer tells the fuel system how much fuel to deliver. These calculated amounts of air and fuel are typically mixed together before being sucked into the combustion chamber of an engine cylinder. There the spark plug ignites the mixture, producing the controlled burn that powers the vehicle. It’s important for the fuel in the vehicle to be as clean as possible. The 3-step fuel system cleaning service we provide restores maximum power and performance to your car’s engine. It helps to eliminate rough idle, hesitation and knocking, reduce emissions caused by deposits, helps to prevent costly fuel injection repairs, and restore engine efficiency and fuel economy. We recommend this service every 30,000 miles.
